Certification.

Certification for all Veterinary Professionals

CPD is a term used to describe the learning activities that veterinary professionals participate in to improve their knowledge and abilities in a given subject.  CPD enables veterinary professionals to become proactive rather than reactive.

Veterinary professionals have the option of attending many CPD activities and events without participating in further study.  This often leads to delegates not retaining the information or having the confidence to take what they learnt into practice.  A structured approach to learning helps retain key staff by developing their knowledge and skills, which in turn will make a practice more sustainable, profitable and gives it the competitive edge.

Delegates who attend a CPD activity, which leads to an award, gain far more from the course.

An Entia Certificate in Advanced Studies (ECAS) award can be achieved in a number of ways:
  • Delegates can 'mix and match' modules from any Entia accredited CPD provider, gaining points, which in turn build into an ECAS award.  Delegates will complete and pass the course work along the way and sit a short answer question examination, covering areas from all the modules undertaken.
  • Delegates can complete an Entia accredited modular training programme, complete and pass the course work and short answer question examination to gain a designated ECAS award, i.e. ECAS(Animal Behaviour)..

Benefit to you, the Student
Flexibility.  Whilst we will actively support and encourage students to keep up their studies,  we are aware that things change from time to time and there may be the need to take time out from studying for personal reasons.  Students undertaking a ECAS designated route will have up to three years to complete the course and examination.  For the ECAS award students can take up to five years to complete the modules and examination.
ECAS awards are non-specialist qualifications, do not carry credits or count towards the RCVS Advanced Practitioner Status.
